Still Day 2 – It wasn’t supposed to end before it even got started, was it? . . .

Fragile creatures we are. Like seeds blown in the wind. No control. Fatalistic winds sending us wherever. The natural order of calamity doing its thing. Is it better to struggle against it or go with the flow?

The day’s rain has cleared away just in time to welcome the already long evenings. France is an hour ahead of our BST. Enjoying a glass and reflecting over the events of the last twenty hours we agree, and are thankful to that angel who saved us from locking horns, even before we’d had chance to experience Spain’s famous “Running of the Bulls”.

Beastie’s hidden safety pipe revealed

We come to the conclusion that we must test every conceivable working part of Beastie’s interior and exterior before setting off from Angleterre next time..

Anyway that’s all water under the bridge and now we’re sitting pretty near Rouen, at Le Clos St Nicholas camping and counting down the days until we’re in the warmth of the Med.

Well, not that pretty. A mostly wet and dreary deserted site.

So from tomorrow it’s onwards and downwards . . .

  1. Mary-Ann and Chunky Chips,
Oh dear, what a start off! I thought you would have something to say about the dreary weather but never dreamt your waterworks would give so much hassle! Your ignorance is easily accepted (!) and it does sound a very sensible feature – although I am not sure how you could ever go away in frosty weather? Thank goodness for that ‘angel’.
Ah well, let’s hope things are on the up as you venture south. I now have your blog bookmarked again and look forward to hearing and seeing your adventures.
    French Fries

    1. Monsieur French Fries, that has really given us a laugh and cheered us up after a frustrating end to today. We are now basking in 16C 🙂 Like you we wonder how Beastie will cope when we venture towards 66N in a year or two.
