Day 20 – We think it’s all over .. . .

Flexible bodies coupled with flexible minds. Attributes required in abundance when switching from spacious house to MOHO. Especially when changeable and inclement weather confines. So three weeks of no alfresco meals, and virtually all one-night stopovers, just about manageable.

Today Beastie heads south. He’s heard some warm temperatures may still be lingering down there. He likes a bit of sun. He has no intention of stopping for anything. He’s got his blinkers on and galloping along the A68 through the Scottish Borders region. He can almost smell Northumberland’s National Park.

But then Mr S pulls sharply on his reigns. Draws him to a halt. What’s this place? Jedburgh? Never heard of it. Let’s go and have a look-see.

It’s a photographer’s dream.

King David of Scotland rebuilt and designated the 9thC church a priory between 1118 – 1138 to house French Augustinian monks
An astonishing build

We haven’t finished.

Jedburgh also lays claim to having Mary Queen of Scots pay a four week visit in 1566.
